| My parents Herbert and Birthe Kain still live in the city of Odense, where I was born and raised. Now both retired, my father was a professor at the technical college in Odense (Teknikum) while my mother taught thousands of school children a variety of topics as a full time teacher.
Today, my father mainly manages his investments, while my mother focuses on her cultural interests as well as her physical well-being. I recently attended their 50th wedding anniversary (see photos). My brother Henrik is married to Masako. Together they run Ofelia - one of the biggest bed and linen shops in Copenhagen, as well as several other affiliated companies. A lawyer by education, Henrik manages the financial and legal issues of the business. |  |
| My sister Helle is married to Brian. Helle is a physician who graduated from the Medical School at Odense University. Helle and Brian have three wonderful children, Martin, Helene and a toddler named Daniel, here seen with his proud aunt at age 3 months (Daniel, that is). |  |
